The Brooklyn Dodgers were a Major League Baseball league, active primarily in the National League. The team was founded in 1876 and played in Brooklyn until 1957, after which the team was moved to Los Angeles. The Brooklyn Dodgers won seven National league pennants but only one World Series in 1955. They are known for having the first black player in the modern major league, Jackie Robinson. William Mullins, a notable sports cartoonist of the time, fixed the team with the nickname “Dem Bums” after overhearing a cab driver say “So, how did those bums do today?”. The now famous illustration is an exaggerated version of famed clown Emmett Kelly. The image and the nickname stuck and can still be seen on vintage yearbooks. The team played predominantly at Ebbets field which lasted from 1913 to 1957. It was demolished in 1960 and replaced by the Ebbets Field apartments, later renamed the Jackie Robinson Apartments.

This original Brooklyn Dodgers shirt is sure to make a great gift for any Brooklyn or baseball lover.
